This new tweed yarn is whiter than the old one and there are fewer flecks (tweed) in the yarn, which I personally find makes it more elegant.
Tweed yarn is a lovely yarn to knit with for several reasons. First, it is superwash treated and can therefore be machine washed, making it very suitable for children's knitting. Second, it blooms and takes up more space when knitted than much of our other yarns, because it doesn't contain silk or cashmere. So it's perfect for luxurious sweaters. Additionally, nylon has been added, so the yarn can also be used for socks.
With this yarn it is important to make a tension swatch (which we always recommend, by the way) because, as mentioned, it blooms and becomes fuller after washing. All in all, a lovely yarn with a very beautiful tweed effect.
