This new tweed yarn is whiter than the old one and has fewer flecks (tweed) in the yarn, which I personally think makes it more elegant.
The tweed yarn is a lovely yarn to knit with for several reasons. Firstly it is superwash treated and therefore can be machine washed, making it very suitable for children's garments. Secondly, it blooms and takes up more space when knitted than many of our other yarns, because it doesn't contain silk or cashmere. So it is perfect for beautiful sweaters. Additionally, nylon has been added so the yarn can also be used for socks.
With this yarn it is important to make a gauge swatch (which we always recommend) because, as mentioned, it blooms and fills out more after washing. All in all a lovely yarn with a very beautiful tweed effect.
