Choosing knitting needles today is a huge task, as there are now many different types on the market.
Some prefer wooden needles and others metal needles. I can knit with both and therefore choose needles based on the yarn I'm using.
The smoother the yarn, the better it is to knit with wooden needles, since the yarn won't slip along the needle as easily. For all our silk yarns we especially recommend wooden needles, particularly if you are a beginner. It unquestionably makes it easier to handle the smooth fibers, so you, for example, don't drop stitches as easily.
But knitting needles are actually a very personal choice, so just experiment and see what works for you.
